Wu Sangui has been controversial in history. He has been labeled as “capricious”, “unfaithful and unfilial” and “furious for a beauty” etc. At the same time, his loyalty and filial piety are also reflected. For example, he was risking his life to save his father and was sticking to the isolated city of Ningyuan. At the crossroads of times, Wu Sangui’s personality is characterized by intertwined contradictions. It is unreasonable to judge historical figures only by “facialization” and “simplification”. Therefore, this paper starts with objective historical resources, restores Wu Sangui’s real appearance from the perspective of psychobiography and life narrative. Meanwhile, it explores the manifestations and causes of Wu Sangui’s contradictory personality.

To explore the influence mechanism of parental positive parenting on future self-continuity, a questionnaire survey was conducted among 641 college students. The results showed that: (1) Parental positive parenting significantly predicted future self-continuity;(2) Family support played a partial mediating role in the effect of parental positive parenting on future self-continuity;(3) Family socioeconomic status moderated the first half of the mediating pathway. Specifically, compared with low family socioeconomic status, parental positive parenting had a greater impact on perceived family support of those with high family socioeconomic status. Therefore, parental positive parenting not only had a direct significantly effect on future self-continuity, but also had an indirect significantly effect on future self-continuity through a mediating role of perceived family support and a moderating role of family socioeconomic status.

Aimed to explore the influence of future time perspective on anxiety and its mechanism, focusing on the chain mediating role of both self-efficacy and coping between future time perspective and anxiety. 1014 people aged 12-75(mean age=39.07), who completed the Future Time Perspective Scale (FTPS), the General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES) the Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire(SCSQ), and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7(GAD-7). The results indicated that: (1) The relationships among each pair of future time perspective, self-efficacy and coping were significantly positive. Future time perspective, self-efficacy and coping were all negatively correlated with anxiety. Future time perspective not only had direct effect on anxiety but could also significantly predict self-efficacy and coping; Self-efficacy could significantly predict coping; Coping could significantly predict anxiety. (2) Future time perspective not only had direct effect on anxiety but could also affect residents’ s anxiety by two indirect paths: Through the mediating role of coping; Through the chain mediating role of both self-efficacy and coping. The results of the study confirmed that future time perspective had a negative impact on the emotional health.

Aimed to explore the relationship and mechanism of social support and anxiety, a sample of 998 participants was recruited for the survey research. The results showed that: (1) Social support had a significant negative correlation with anxiety; (2) Social support had a significant positive correlation with open-ended FTP, but didn’t have a significant correlation with limited FTP; (3) Open-ended FTP had a significant negative correlation with anxiety, while limited FTP had a significant positive correlation with anxiety; (4) Social support significantly exerted indirect effects on anxiety through the mediation of open-ended FTP, but the indirect effect of social support on anxiety through limited FTP was not significant. The present study may contribute to a better understanding of the effects as well as its paths and conditions of social support and FTP on anxiety. Moreover, it can also provide constructive suggestions for reducing anxiety in the new era.

Based on the perspective of embodied metaphor, two experiments of this study, both of them were stroop sentence priming paradigms, were conducted to investigate the effects of environment and self clean-dirty priming on the processing of negative moral emotion words. (1)The results of experiment 1 showed that participants processed negative moral emotion words faster after environment dirty priming than environment clean priming. (2)The results of experiment 2 revealed that participants processed negative moral emotion words quicker after self dirty priming than self clean priming. (3)The comparative analysis of the outcomes of these two experiments found that self-dirty priming, compared with environment dirty priming, significantly accelerated the response time of negative moral emotion words, which mainly manifested in shame, guilt and embarrassment. The above results indicate that individuals’ dirty experiences from environment and self are metaphorically associated with the concepts of negative moral emotion. In addition, people react the concept words of negative moral emotion faster under the prime of self dirty.

Objective: cognitive reappraisal is the most common and effective emotion regulation strategy, which can effectively reduce the negative emotion. Neuroticism, as a stable emotion related personality trait, has been proved to be negatively correlated with cognitive reappraisal ability. However, it is not clear why highly neurotic individuals have poor cognitive reappraisal ability. Methods: using the classic paradigm of cognitive reappraisal, we collected a large sample (n = 160) of task state MRI data to explore the brain mechanism between neurotic personality and cognitive reappraisal. Results: In the cognitive reappraisal task, the score of cognitive reappraisal ability was negatively correlated with the score of neurotic personality. MRI results showed that the activation intensity of medial prefrontal cortex, inferior frontal gyrus and middle frontal gyrus decreased in individuals with high neuroticism score, and the activation intensity of medial prefrontal cortex, inferior frontal gyrus and middle frontal gyrus played a partial mediating role in the relationship between neuroticism personality and cognitive reappraisal ability. Conclusion: In the cognitive reappraisal task, the individuals with high neuroticism may affect the cognitive reappraisal ability by affecting the activation level of some brain regions (medial prefrontal lobe, inferior frontal gyrus, middle frontal gyrus).

We investigated the semantic relationship between front and back parts of Cantonese conceptual two-part allegorical sayings by employing the priming paradigm to examine, on the one hand, to what extent meaning consistency between front and back parts affects the comprehension results and, on the other hand, how familiarity of the sayings and the priming effect exerted by front or back parts influence the comprehension results. The first experiment was designed by inviting four types of Chinese native speakers including Mandarin speakers, Cantonese speakers, Hakka speakers and Chaoshan speakers as participants to explore whether they were different in reaction time and response accuracy when making judgments of the back parts, the front parts and the front and back parts respectively in the cases of the presentation of three types of primes arranged in order of the front parts, the back parts and the control materials. The results of experiment 1 revealed that the effect was more significantly different under the experimental condition when the back parts were primed by the front parts than when the front parts were primed by the back parts. Experiment 2 required four types of new participants to make judgments of either the back parts or the fronts parts after the presentation of the corresponding front parts and the back parts. The results indicated that the reaction time was longer and the error rate was higher when the front parts were primed by the back parts. Obviously, Cantonese speakers were fast and accurate in making judgments in the experiments, but they were still affected by familiarity during the comprehension, to say nothing of other types of speakers. The results also showed that meaning consistency between front and back parts was one of the significant features in the comprehension of two-part allegorical sayings. We concluded that the front parts are considered as the ‘development’, while the back parts as the ‘source’ in Cantonese two-part allegorical sayings.

CPM leadership theory was proposed in 1980s, which holds that the Chinese leadership behavior evaluation model contains three factors: “Performance achieving”, “Maintenance” and “Character and moral”. The theoretical research more than 35 years can be divided into three periods: Proposed and verified period, re-verification and supplementary discussion period, effectiveness and mechanisms discussion period. CPM leadership theory incorporates leader’s personal character into the concept of leadership as a cultural specific factor, which reflects the Chinese characteristics of the leadership evaluation model, breakthrough and develop the two-dimensional model of “task-oriented and relationship- oriented”. The most important innovation and breakthrough of CPM leadership theory, is to regard “personal morality” as an indispensable key factor for people to evaluate leaders’ behavior. Related research about CPM leadership theory can provide enlightenments and references for the development of Chinese indigenous leadership research. The future research can focus on the enrichment of the discussion of indigenization of leadership concept, exploring the multi-side exploration of antecedents and consequences variables of leadership behavior, conducting multicultural comparative study of leadership theory, deeply revealing the mechanism of leadership “black box”.

To investigate the relationship between objective overqualification and perceived overqualification, our study explored the influence of objective overqualification on perceived overqualification based on the perspective of employees’ achievement motivation and psychological needs. Data were collected from 436 employees in enterprises and institutions. The results indicated that objective overqualifications had a positive effect on perceived overqualifications. Autonomy need satisfaction played a partial mediating role in the relationship between objective overqualification and perceived overqualification. Performance goal orientation moderated the relationship between autonomy need satisfaction and perceived overqualification. Under the circumstance of autonomy need being satisfied, the more employees were oriented by performance goals, the more overqualification they were likely to perceive. Our study provided an explanation for the reasons of the formation mechanism of the employees’ perceived overqualification.

The status phenomenon is a way to represent the unique existence of individuals in social situations, reflecting the social connection between individuals. There are different status for individuals in different social situations. This transformation of different status leads to the perception of status expectation, and then affects the behavior of the corresponding identity. In view of this, the current study attempted to explore what status expectation of college students and how it affected behavior choice in different social situations by three experiments. Experiment 1 investigated whether academic performance of college students affected status expectations by employing a 2 (status category: symbolic vs. specific) x 2 (academic performance: good vs. poor) within-participants design. Experiment 2 explored how job performance and interpersonal relationship interact with each other to influence status expectation by using 2 (identity category: symbolic vs. specific) x 2 (job performance: good vs. poor) x 2 (interpersonal relationship: harmony vs. apathia) within-participants design. Experiment 3 employed the within-participants design of 3 (prestige: low, general, high) x 3 (title: lecturer vs. associate professor vs. professor) to explore how status expectation affects behavior choice of college students. The results showed that academic/job performance and interpersonal relationship of college students affected status expectations; Compared with specific status, college students expected more symbolic status, and symbolic status had a greater impact on behavior choice. These results indicated that chinese college students had different status expectations in different social situations, and these status expectations influenced their behavior choice.

This research explored the adaptability of the sensitivity to criticism scale (SCS) in secondary school students, and the differences of critical sensitivity in demographic variables. A total of 683 secondary school students were recruited randomly for this research. The results demonstrated that the revised questionnaire contained 5 dimensions of self-management, interpersonal interaction, competence performance, self-satisfaction and personality performance with 21 items. The five-factor model fitted well ((2/df =2.30, GFI=0.90, CFI=0.93, TLI=0.91, RMSEA=0.062). The alpha coefficients of the total scale and each dimension were greater than 0.7. The total scores were considerably higher for the only child and senior three students. In conclusion, the sensitivity to criticism scale of secondary school students indicates satisfactory reliability and validity, and the only child and senior three students are more sensitive to criticism.
