Language processing in bimodal bilinguals: Current research and future prospects |

Abstract Bimodal bilinguals, acquiring a spoken and a signed language, offer a unique window into the architecture of the language processing system since they have the unique opportunity to produce and perceive two languages at the same time with distinct sensory and motor system. There are several difference and common as well between bimodal bilinguals and unimodal bilinguals in language processing. Future studies should further explore bimodal bilinguals on broader sight to explain the nature of bilingual processing.
