Abstract Psychological immunity is the capacity to integrate cognition, emotion, and behavior to actively resist stress and sustain mental health. Prior research often treated it as an isolated trait, overemphasizing the psychological while neglecting cultural and physiological dimensions. An integrative framework is outlined: Culture as the “operating system” providing value resources and scripts, psychological processes as the “application software” executing regulation, and physiology as the “hardware” in which neuro-endocrine-immune networks convert psychological processes into health outcomes. Clarifying these cross-level mechanisms can guide localized assessment, cross-cultural comparison, multimodal research, and mental health promotion.
