Abstract The moral decision-making task was utilized in this study to investigate the effects of facial attractiveness and personality labels on college students’ moral decision-making and gender differences. 166 college students were asked if they would give up their interests to help others in danger who had different facial attractiveness and personality labels. People with positive personality labels obtained more help. However, the difference in personality labels of male participants was more noticeable in the attractive opposite-sex faces, whilst the difference in female participants was unaffected by the attractiveness of the opposite-sex faces. The results showed that in moral decision-making, men were more likely to be influenced by the opposite-sex’s facial attractiveness, whereas women were more likely to be influenced by the opposite-sex’s personality traits.
