The metaverse and embedded cognition: Cognitive problems in mixed reality |

Abstract Examples of the controversial issues between embedded cognition and extended cognition typically involve the use of technologically low-grade bio-external resources. Research in the field of metaverse allows people to rethink the above question in a new context. By investigating the hybrid cognitive circuits in metaverse, it can be found that embedded cognition not only has the same explanatory effect as extended cognition, but also conforms more to the principle of conservatism or simplicity. The relationship between the cognitive subject and mixed reality and virtual experience is more causal rather than constitutive. If we ignore the ontological differences between the metaverse and the real world may weaken the subjectivity of the body in cognitive activities.
