| No filial child at the sickbed for long? Filial caregiving burnout in China’s family feedback model |

Abstract Filial caregiving burnout refers to the negative syndrome of physical, emotional, and psychological aspects formed by adult children experience during the long-term process of caring for the elderly parents due to the high pressure of caregiving and insufficient resources. Theoretical frameworks such as the Social Exchange Theory, the Job Demands-Resources Model, and the Informal Caregiving Integrative Model provide preliminary explanations for the occurrence of filial caregiving burnout. To address the issue of filial caregiving burnout, a series of coping strategies can be considered from multiple perspectives, including national policy support, social collaboration, community services, and family self-construction, such as establishing family caregiving subsidy systems, strengthening community elderly care services, and enhancing internal family support systems.
