Abstract The 2 factor model of environmental values scale (2-MEV) was administered to 915 Chinese adolescents aged 10 to 17. The data were randomly split into two halves, with 463 samples used for item analysis and exploratory factor analysis, and 452 samples used for validity and reliability testing. The results indicated that: Except for item 11, the rest of the item-total correlations ranged from 0.36 to 0.86; The scale consisted of two dimensions, environmental utilization and environmental protection, comprising 17 items in total; The two-factor structure fitted the data well; The reliability coefficiencies of each subscale were above 0.82; The correlations of environmental utilization and environmental protection with NEP were both above 0.5. The correlation between environmental protection and empathy with nature was 0.49. The revised 2-MEV Scale demonstrated good validity and reliability, making it suitable for measuring Chinese adolescents’ environmental values.
