Abstract In order to compile the Cultural Attachment Questionnaire and test its reliability and validity, based on the prototypical model of attachment and extensional model, combined with the results of previous literature review, open-ended questionnaire and individual interviews, this study compiled the initial Cultural Attachment Questionnaire. Then, item analysis and exploratory factor analysis were conducted in the first sample （n=392）, and confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis and validity analysis were performed in the second sample （n=679） to form the final scale. The results showed that Cultural Attachment was a multi-dimensional construct with emotional elements as the core and positive tendency, including three dimensions： cognition, emotion and behavior tendency. 16 items were selected and three factors were extracted by exploratory factor analysis, including cultural-self relevance, cultural emotional connection and cultural intimacy. The cumulative variance contribution rate was 71.23%. Confirmatory factorial analysis confirmed that the three-dimensional model fitted well. The results of reliability analysis, content validity, construct validity and criterion validity showed the Cultural Attachment Questionnaire reached the psychometric standard and can be a valid tool to measure one's experience of cultural attachment.
